On Thursday, someone appeared to have fallen from a roof at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino, which is being built in Louisiana, and they were fatally injured.
According to Baton Rouge TV station WBRZ, the casino structure was still under construction at the time of the tragedy. The casino will be moved to a dry land location from the waterfront.
Why the guy fell was not mentioned in the initial reporting. It didn't even name the victim.
At the same casino location, two workers suffered injuries in February. Both experienced elbow and shoulder pain, and one had fractures, according to WVLA, a TV station in Baton Rouge. The accident occurred as a result of a cable attached to a ramp breaking. In the previous accident, glass doors, ceiling fans, and lights all tumbled to the ground.
Criminal Activity Resulting in Arrests
After authorities discovered a human trafficking ring at the Golden Moon Hotel and Casino in Mississippi last month, three individuals were taken into custody.
A victim of human trafficking was identified, citing Mississippi TV station WJTV. Her exact age was not immediately known.
According to the article, one of the detained suspects faces charges related to child pornography and may also face charges of sexually assaulting a kid. Additionally, a suspect was taken into custody for having crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
During a search, police discovered two firearms, one gram of methamphetamine (meth), three grams of cocaine, 31 grams of crack cocaine, ten grams of marijuana, and two cell phones.
Between April 12 and 13, authorities disbanded the operation.
The casino is run by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, who said in a recent statement that the arrests and the seized firearms "will have an impact on the communities" and that they happened "without incidents."
The casino complex is situated close to Philadelphia, Mississippi.
Supposed Plan for Casino Gains
Recently, an Indiana casino employee who owed back child support was taken into custody after it was claimed he had allowed someone else to pick up his profits.
According to Hometown News Now, Lance Halderman, 44, of Michigan City, Indiana, was accused of gaming cheating.
On March 22, while Halderman was at Blue Chip Casino spinning a slot machine, the incident occurred. It made roughly $2,000.
It is said that he instructed someone else to get the money and then give it to him. After that, Halderman would give the other individual $100.
Halderman can receive a sentence of up to 30 months in jail if found guilty.
The man who took the money was not prosecuted.
