The WSOP Circuit is making a comeback to Atlantic City, the gaming hub where the renowned tour started over 15 years ago.
Caesars Entertainment stated in a release sent to Casino.org on Monday that the WSOP Circuit (WSOP-C) is set to return this summer to Harrah’s Atlantic City, the location where the tour originated. The WSOP-C tournament at Harrah’s Atlantic City is scheduled from Thursday, August 14, to Monday, August 25.
"We are thrilled to welcome back the prestigious World Series of Poker Circuit to Harrah’s Resort and the unmatched energy, excitement, and talent it brings,” said Gregg Klein, Harrah’s Atlantic City senior vice president and general manager. “Hosting this iconic event reinforces our commitment to delivering premier gaming experiences and positions us as a top destination for esteemed players and poker fans alike.”
Harrah’s, one of the three casinos in Atlantic City’s Marina District alongside Borgata and Golden Nugget, hosted Caesars' launch of the WSOP Circuit in January 2025. The Circuit was created as a precursor to the WSOP that takes place in Las Vegas every year since 1970.
WSOP Atlantic City Comeback
The inaugural World Series of Poker Circuit event took place at Harrah’s Atlantic City. Nghi Tran from Canada took home the $9,500 +$500 No-Limit Hold’em Championship, earning the grand prize of $780,615. Tran was the final player remaining out of 249 participants.
The WSOP returned to Harrah’s Atlantic City annually until March 2020, when disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in its cancellation. Just over five years later, the WSOP-Circuit Atlantic City event has returned.
“Over the past five years, the resort has renovated all hotel rooms and suites, ensuring guests enjoy modern, stylish accommodations. The resort is also home to vibrant nightlife at The Pool After Dark, a state-of-the-art spa, thrilling gaming promotions, and the most celebrity chef restaurants in Atlantic City, including Gordon Ramsay Steak, Bobby’s Burgers, Chicken Guy!, and Buddy’s Boardwalk Empire,” a release on the WSOP’s AC return said.
The 28-table poker area at Harrah’s Atlantic City hosts an assortment of poker games and tournaments every day of the week. The poker room operates from 11 am to 6 am on Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 am to 4 am on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 11 am on Fridays until 6 am on the following Monday.
The WSOP Circuit for 2025-26 will kick off in late July after the 2025 World Series of Poker ends in Las Vegas at the Horseshoe and Paris. The complete Circuit schedule will be revealed in the next few weeks.
Propiedad del WSOP
In August of last year, Caesars Entertainment consented to sell the WSOP to the investment company NSUS Group. The agreement comprised $250 million in cash along with a $250 million promissory note backed by NSUS, which committed to selling WSOP’s intellectual property.
According to the agreement of the deal, NSUS, the owner of GGPoker and GGNetwork, permitted Caesars to keep running the WSOP Circuit and WSOP Las Vegas tournament. The agreement also permits Caesars to keep utilizing the WSOP brand in its casino poker rooms for the upcoming 20 years.
The conditions stipulate that Caesars properties are granted “preferential rights” for hosting WSOP-C events.
